If you clicked here, you are probably nursing a baby and trying to stay awake. I will not hold it against you đŸ™‚

In case you really want to know more about your lactation consultant, here are the facts: I planned on being a nurse since kindergarten graduation. The science of breastmilk became my passion. In fact, I was so interested in breastfeeding I decided to try it for myself over the span of five children. Because there were five children at home, I went to work, for peace. I worked in hospitals, outpatient clinics, pediatric offices, and started a breastfeeding support clinic. My personal breastfeeding experience was about doing everything, in my power, to keep the children healthy. Being a Registered Nurse, my children swear we only saw the pediatrician for life-threatening illness. My years of providing lactation care allowed me to serve as President of US Lactation Consultants Association, Chair of the Texas Breastfeeding Coalition, and winner of the UT Health President’s Award for Leadership. I guess you could say, I like being in charge and I am old.
